
NAIA Ball Team of the Week – Louisiana Christian
Louisiana Christian (LCU) – Wrapped up their week 4-0 with a win over Dillard (LA) and a three game sweep over #10 Houston-Victoria.
LCU would start the week with a 11-7 victory over Dillard (LA). Braden McLid picks up the win and improves his record to 2-1 on the season. LCU’s offense would finish the game with 11 hits and zero errors to begin their week of baseball.
Game two would start their tough series against #10 UHV. LCU would pull out a 1-0 victory on Cy Fontenot’s dominant pitching performance. Fontenot threw 7 IP while only giving up three hits and zero walks. He would also get himself two strikeouts and pick up his second win of the season.
Game three would see another shutout for LCU as they took a 3-0 victory. Coleman Haltom will be awarded the win. Haltom threw 5 innings giving up three hits and walking zero batters. He would also rack up 5 strikeouts and collect his second win of the season improving his record to 2-0.
In the series finale LCU would win the game on a Caleb Duhon go ahead single in the bottom of the 6th. LCU would win 3-2 and complete the series sweep.
LCU will next play on March 28th against conference opponent Our Lady of the Lake in a three game series.
