NAIA Ball Team of the Week

NAIA Ball: Team of the Week (Southeastern University-FL)
To open up their 2025 campaign, the Southeastern University (FL) Fire went 4-0 in the East/West Challenge. All four wins came against top 25 teams and they proceeded to outscore them 33-4. Two notable victories were against #7 Lewis-Clark State (ID), #10 Arizona Christian and #2, reigning NAIA World Series Champions, Hope International (CA).
SEU started the tournament against #10 Arizona Christian where Reese Wissinger tossed 7 shutout innings while striking out 7 ACU hitters and only allowing three hits in the 7-0 victory.
Game two SEU took on #24 British Columbia (Canada) and walked away with a 6-1 victory. Holding UBC scoreless for 8 innings before allowing their first and only run of the game in the top of the 9th inning. Aaron Robertson was dominant on the bump for SEU. Robertson threw five scoreless innings, racking up 8 strikeouts, and only giving up two hits. Peter Tassler, DH for SEU, also had himself a dominant game. Tassler went 4-for-5 with two runs batted in and also launched a solo home run in the third inning.
Game three for SEU was their toughest game of the tournament. Taking on #7 Lewis-Clark State, both teams were locked in a pitching battle. SEU would walk it off in the bottom of the 9th with a Sean Kaelber RBI double and give Bryce McDonald the win.
The final game of the tournament for SEU was a match up between #2 Hope International, also known as the reigning NAIA World Series Champions. This didn’t seem to bother the SEU line-up as they would collect 18 hits in the game for the 17-1 victory. A notable player from that game is Charlie Collins who would end the game with 6 runs batted in with five hits. Agnel Miranda would pick up the win as he made quick work with HIU’s line-up. Throwing for five scoreless innings and only allowing one hit.
