Team of the week

With four wins over Mount Vernon Nazarene, Taylor University (IN) improved their season record to
21-9 and their conference record to 14-2. The Trojans swept the series and outscored their
opponent by 17-5.
Game one was won 4-1, Gebel Pentecost earned the win as he pitched seven shutout innings, he
struck out six. The second game of the doubleheader on Friday was another low-scoring affair. Nick
Crabtree (W, 6 IP) and Dalton Swinehart (S, 1 IP) were able to shutout the cougars. Sam Gladd
helped out his squad on Saturday, as he drove in three runs in the third game of the series, the
Trojans won this game 7-4. A combined shutout by Alec Holcomb (W, 6 IP) and Jake Boyer (1 IP) and
a homerun from Luke Picchiotti helped Taylor University to the fourth win of the weekend. The final
score of this game was 4-0. With this conference sweep, the Taylor Trojans are your NAIA Ball team
of the week.
