Big Series of the Week

#4 Webber International vs #1 Southeastern

Babson Park, Florida – TOP 5 BATTLE IN BABSON PARK! In what is the best series matchup we’ve seen so far this season, we get a great battle between two of the nation’s best over a four-game set. Less than 35 miles separate these two campuses in what will be a battle for supremacy in Sun Conference play. The Fire of Southeastern (FL) have won 8 straight since dropping two games in a row. Meanwhile, the Warriors of Webber are in the midst of 13 straight wins, including 19 wins this season at home. A series which holds significant value, with Southeastern looking to distance themselves from the rest of the pack, and Webber looking to leave their mark as a true contender. You should be absolutely pumped for this battle!

HOW TO WATCH

THE TEAMS

#4 Webber International is 21-3 and has found plenty of success under 5th-year head coach Collin Martin. The Warriors are hitting at a clip of .302 team average 24 games into the season, which includes 177 runs scored on 221 hits. Offensive leaders include Brody Neveker, who leads the team in hits and average, as well as power supplier Tyren Milliner, who leads the team with 6 homers and 12 extra base hits. On the mound, the Warriors have a staff earned run average of 3.36. Brayden Matthews leads the team in innings pitched with 33.1, but Blayne Hunter leads the team in strikeouts with 39 punchouts in 32 innings, with a WHIP just south of 1.00.

#1 Southeastern enters the weekend at 19-2 this season, and looking to continue their form. Offensively, this maybe isn’t the offense you’ve been used to seeing from the Fire numbers-wise, where they run rule everyone and score 10-plus runs a game. The Fire have still scored 10-plus runs in 33% of their games this season, and are hitting .295 average as a team with 185 runs, 32 home runs, and 194 hits. Gary Lora and Isaac Nunez will be two of the familiar faces who lead the charge offensively. On the mound, the Fire are as real as it comes, according to @SEUFireBaseball on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) between 3/6-3/9 five different Fire arms touch 95 mph or more. Darien Smith leads the way with 35 innings pitched, an ERA below 1, and 56 strikeouts on the year. The whole staff is weaponized, competitive, and will go after you.
