Team of the week

Reinhardt University is this week’s NAIA Ball Team of the Week, going 4-0. On Tuesday, the Eagles
beat Point University 7-2. Catcher Matty Maurer had himself a day in this game, going 5-for-5 in the
box.
During the weekend, Reinhardt was able to sweep a conference series versus Tennessee Wesleyan.
This improved Reinhardt’s conference record to 8-1 and overall record to 13-7. The sweep by
Reinhardt also marks the first time that TWU is below .500 in conference play.
The first game was a close one, with Reinhardt beating the Bulldogs 9-7. A deep fly from Nash
Crowell helped big time, as he drove in three runs with his homerun.
Crowell went yard again in game two, driving in two runs. Tucker Zdunich also connected for a long
ball. With these homeruns, Reinhardt was able to win 7-5.
Game three of the set, looked to be a pitcher’s duel for six innings. At the start of the seventh, the
offense got going, resulting in an 11-4 victory. Winning pitcher, Alex Galvez threw seven shutout
innings for the Eagles. He struck out five, walked two and gave up three hits. Dylan Lewis helped out
a lot on the offensive side of the ball, bringing in three runs with a homerun in the seventh inning. In
the bottom of the eighth he would connect for an RBI double which put the eleventh run on the
board for Reinhardt University.
