Texas A&M-Victoria – Red River – Texas A&M University–Victoria has been named NAIA Ball Team of the Week after a three-game conference sweep of No. 1 LSU–Shreveport. The Jaguars controlled the series with timely hitting and strong pitching against the top-ranked team in the country.

In game one, Texas A&M–Victoria earned an 8-6 win after trailing 5-3 in the sixth. The Jaguars scored three runs to take the lead and added two more insurance runs in the seventh. Jose Montanez went 2-for-2 with a home run, one RBI, and two runs scored. Matthew Mejia secured the win with a three-inning save, allowing one hit, one run, zero earned runs, one walk, and striking out four.

Game two ended in walk-off fashion, as Garrett Smith delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to win the game. The victory clinched the series for the Jaguars.

In game three, Jacob Baker led a pitching-dominant performance, throwing 6.1 innings without allowing a hit while giving up no runs, one walk, and striking out five. Texas A&M–Victoria provided enough support with a five-run inning in the fourth to complete the sweep.
