LEWIS-CLARK STATE – CASCADE – After opening the season with a doubleheader sweep over Whitworth by scores of 15–5 and 4–1, Lewis–Clark State now turns its attention to a tough upcoming matchup against Texas A&M–Texarkana.Although they were not ranked in the Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, they did earn a No. 14 ranking in the JuCo Recruiting Class Rankings, highlighting the strength of their incoming class.

Game one marked the first of several lopsided results in the series, as the Warriors delivered a dominant 11–0 victory over Texas A&M–Texarkana. Pitching was led by junior right-hander Evan Canfield, out of Bothell, who tossed four shutout innings, allowing just four walks while recording four strikeouts. Canfield earned the win, his first of the season, improving his record to 1–0. Offensively, it was the big bat of Bryce Johnson that powered Lewis–Clark State. Johnson finished 3-for-4 with five runs batted in, leading the Warriors’ explosive offensive performance in the series opener.

Game two was the double-header and the Warriors’ bats had not quite cooled down. Izzy Madariaga and Bryce Johnson both got themselves solo home runs en route to an 8-2 victory. Landon Webb started on the mound in game two and delivered five shutout innings surrendering only one hit and four strikeouts of his own on just sixty-six pitches while the bullpen of Levi Anderson and Jace Taylor gave up just three hits combined.

Game three saw the Warriors offense continue to crush the baseball as they recorded five doubles overall, led once again by Bryce Johnson who went 2-3 with a double and three runs batted in as LC State powered their way to a 12-0 victory in run-rule fashion. Jackson Cloud got the start and matched his predecessors with five innings of shutout ball and five strikeouts needing only sixty-three pitches to do so.

In the final game of the series, we saw an identical score to game three as the Warriors once again won 12-0 led by a trio of home runs from Kooper Jones, Cade Westerlund and Anthony Karagiannopoulos. Jones had a big day at the plate, going 2-4 with the home run and four runs batted in while Westerlund trailed behind him with three runs batted in. Three Warrior pitchers combined for ten strikeouts on the day as they only needed eight innings to complete the win and earn the extremely impressive four game series sweep.
